“Diwali Mela” at Global Mall Celebrates all Things Indian

Thousands of visitors flocked Global Mall for Diwali Mela on Oct 22 and Oct 23. It’s a true Indian heritage and culture and a world of difference and attracts every individual, said an American visitor to this reporter.

Visitors enjoyed the weekend with special activities representing the true Heritage and Culture of India. These activities include foods from all around India, games and entertainment for kids, dances from the different regions of India, spiritual and religious Classes and Demonstrations, Yoga & Meditation Sessions, Dance lessons, latest fashion, jewelry, accessories, furniture, DVDs, books, Live Entertainment and exhibits by Community Organizations.

Sewa Intl and Ekal Vidyalaya managed all kids Activities. There was face painting, free candy, moon bounce, and other fun activities. Many children did coloring of various Diwali pictures. More than 20 volunteers of Sewa and Ekal managed the event over two days. There is lots of excitement in children while they were playing. A special Garbha and Dandiya dance was organized on Saturday night. Mall was full to the capacity with families dressed in traditional dress. A group of students from Georgia State University attended the event. Many people enquired about Sewa Intl. All the proceedings from this event will be sent to earthquake rehabilitation work in Indian subcontinent.

On Sunday, TV actress Kumud of Kusum fame visited Diwali Mela. Many followers of Kusum serial were excited to see her and took photos with her. Kumud visited all the shops and interacted with people expressing happiness over celebration of Diwali Mela.

Seeing the festive atmosphere all around, one visitor remarked, "Global Mall should host Melas once in a quarter".

Global Mall is one of its kind and a unique one in south east. The envisioned concept of its founder Shiv Aggarwal was successful. Global mall is A 220,000squareft, two-storey indoor mall housing Indian restaurants, hair salon, grocery, Jewelers and clothing stores, dance schools, media offices, Impact conference center and a shrine among other things. Other nationals frequently visit this facility and enjoy Indian food and culture. Global Mall has become an Indian community center getting all they need under one roof.
