Washington, Sep 8 (IANS) A California judge has reduced the bail of Indian American actor Shelley Malil, accused of stabbing a woman more than 20 times, from $10 million to $3 million.

Malil, who has pleaded not guilty to the charge, was initially held behind bars on $2 million bail, but that was subsequently increased to $10 million. However, the judge had brought the figure down to $3 million during a hearing last Friday, reports contactmusic.com.

The 43-year-old Virgin star is accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Kendra Beebe at her home in San Diego, California last month.

Lawyers for Beebe, who sustained serious injuries, including life-threatening stab wounds to the lungs and throat, claim their client almost bled to death after the vicious attack.
