Archie Panjabi quits 'The Good Wife'

London, Oct 16 (IANS) British actress of Indian origin Archie Panjabi, who became popular for her role in “The Good Wife”, will exit the drama series after the ongoing sixth season.

She will now star in a 20th Century Fox’s drama pilot and is now under a talent deal with the studio, reports eonline.com.

Panjabi won the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama after the first season of “The Good Wife”, for her role as private investigator Kalinda Sharma.

“Archie is an amazing actress who helped build Kalinda from the ground up as an enigmatic, powerful and sexy character. It’s been a pleasure to write for her, and we’ll be sad to see her go; but we still have her for the rest of season six, so let’s not exhaust our goodbyes yet.

“We look forward to meeting all the wonderful new characters Archie brings to the screen. But either way, we’re keeping the boots,” co-creators of the show Robert and Michelle King said in a joint statement.

“The Good Wife” has not officially been renewed for a seventh season by CBS.
