Atlanta man charged in murder of Mradulaben Patel

Mradulaben Patel

Atlanta, GA, Aug 18: The Atlanta man charged in the murder of Anderson gas station owner, Mradulaben Patel, has been extradited to Anderson County, officials said.

Justin Jamal Warner was extradited to the Anderson County Detention Center Monday evening from Clayton County,Georgia.

Warner went before a magistrate judge Tuesday morning. Bond was not set because a magistrate cannot set bond on a murder charge, according to media reports. Warner will now go before a general sessions judge. The date for that court appearance has not been set.

Mradulaben was shot in the face and left in a critical condition, and died two days after the robbery attempt at her gas station along Highway 153.

Surveillance footage showed the suspect, moments before, asking for cigars and then shooting Patel.

In addition to surveillance video and his birth date from the register’s memory, investigators have said tattoos on the video match those on Warner.

Patel’s remains were scattered at her family’s home in London earlier this year.
