Get Your Sparkle On This Festive Season

BY RANI SHARMA

India is known as the land of festivals. People of the country come together to celebrate the spirit of every religion with great fanfare. Fashion naturally becomes a part of the festivities. This is the season to stock your wardrobe up on saris, shararas, ghagra cholis and salwar suits.

And it is not just about clothes! Each year there are new launches for watches, footwear, jewelry and other accessories.

Diwali is a great boon for the apparel industry when people invest in designs and colorful outfits for the many pujas and parties. Here we look at a few such dazzling creations.

Rani Orange Sari: This sari is in pure shaded georgette with a gota patti border with fine trim. The edging is finished with silk piping. Wear with a deep-neck long sleeved blouse.

Pair with open polki long earrings and kundan kada.

Bright make-up. Pile your hair high in an up do. Carry a potli purse.

Gold Net Lehnga with Long Jacket: Appliqué work jacket with sheer sleeves, contrast dupatta with embroidery work, and finished with antique borders.

Wear long earrings, bright eye makeup with bronzer, and a light shade of lipstick.

Blue & Hot Pink Sharara: The sharara has a lehariya border, and it attached to gota patti. The princess cut sleeveless blouse is worn inside. A long jacket embellished with swarovski crystals on the front panel and embroidery at the back completes the look. Wait, there is a dupatta too, with hot pink trim!

Wear a kundan pendant set.

Your make-up needs to be very light because the outfit is bright. A touch of base with concealer  should help in achieving the right look.

Carry a clutch and wear wedge heels in a shade that matches your outfit.
