Atlanta, GA: Bright and early, many yoga enthusiasts converged at Om Indian Cuisine in Cumming to attend the Yoga / Surya Namaskara workshop with Dr Sri Krishna Chandaka. The NATA Health Initiative was kicked off by Raghava Tadavarthi.

The workshop started with Om kara and then Bhramari Pranayam, after which, it progressed into the first round of Surya Namaskaras. Dr SriKrishna categorized  different poses of Surya Namaskaras into three sets and went into details of each pose. The participants were then asked to practice a few asanas that would help with reducing fat in the abdominal area.

On Day 2, Dr Srikrishna started with Bhramari Pranayam and took the participants through another set of Surya Namaskaras, after which they learned asanas that would help with increasing concentration and poses that would help in toning of the body.

Right after a short break, the Surya Namaskara marathon started. The attendees were enthusiastic and few wanted to give up. After few rigorous rounds, participants who performed best were presented with the yoga book written by Dr Srikrishna Chandaka.

The day concluded with a ceremony that recognized the winners:

Monica – First Place, Madhu Kota – Second Place, Goutham Goli – Third Place.

Dr Srikrishna Chandaka was felicitated with a bouquet by Gautam Goli and a shawl by Dr Satya Narayana Reddy. The event was concluded with presentation of a plaque by Bala Indurti along with the NATA team.
