Costco shoppers in Santa Cruz, CA were in for a pleasant treat recently when members of ‘Around the World in 80 Dances’ broke into a Bollywood dance set to ‘London Thumakda’ from the movie ‘Queen’. The dance video is now going viral.
“The idea to do this began to fulfill a wish of someone celebrating being one year out of leukemia, a parent and friend who loves all things Bollywood,” the dance club revealed on YouTube. “Some drawn by that mission and others purely by the great energy of the song and dance, it grew among friends and beyond, all levels of dancers or non-dancers welcome. People shared with us more stories of how cancer impacted their lives and how this dance, with the intention behind it, brought them hope and comfort. We all were reminded of the wonder and magic of a true flash mob: that within the mundane and the hard, there still exists ecstatic joy and celebration everywhere, in everyone. Dance and music, from any part of the world, can unite us all in joy.”
