Atlanta’s Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat named president of AKMG

Atlanta, GA, September 16, 2020: Atlanta based Dr. Subrahmanya Bhat was nominated President of Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG) at a virtual conference held on September 5, 2020.

AKMG is an alumni organization in North America (USA and Canada) for medical and dental specialists of Kerala origin.

“I want to thank Dr. Usha Mohandas for doing a wonderful job as President of AKMG. I also want to thank my wife Anu for supporting me and encouraging me to take this task. It is a real honor to be President of AKMG and it will be a great opportunity to give back to Kerala and Malayalee community,” said Dr. Bhat

As new President, Dr. Bhat aims to increase life membership, offer online CME courses, help junior AKMG members get into residency by mentoring and increasing the humanitarian services fund.

Dr. Bhat is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical care Medicine and Integrative Pain Management. He is an active Rotarian and serves as board member at Clayton state university, Hindu temple of Atlanta and Good shepherd clinic. He served as chairman of local Kannada Koota. Dr. Bhat has won multiple community service awards and top physician awards. Bhat family has established several educational scholarships in Atlanta and in India. Bhat family recently initiated a foundation community service, health and education as main goals.

Dr. Bhat is married to Dr. Annapurna Bhat who is a Rheumatologist and their son Kiran is a writer and world traveler.
