Dr. Nyayapathi’s ‘Graceful’ painting wins arts prize

Atlanta,GA, May 7, 2018: Dr. Sivananda Nyayapathi has once again shown his caliber in producing a grand prize-winning portrait!

The Cumming First United Methodist Church had their annual Festival of Arts from Apr 15 – 28.  The Festival exhibited various categories of art, namely, photography, paintings, clay work, collage, wood art, ceramic/porcelain art, etc., and the ‘Best in Show’ awards were given in Two Dimensional (Paintings, Drawings, Collages, etc.), Three Dimensional (Sculpture, Ceramic/porcelain, etc.) and Photography.

Grand Prize is awarded to one exhibit that is considered the best considering all categories, and Dr. Nyayapathi oil painting, titled ‘Graceful’, won the Grand Prize Award.

Dr. Nyayapathi believes that art is the innate nature of humans; it is one of the most natural ways of communication.  In his portraits, he loves the challenge of capturing the personality of the subjects.  His paintings are a way he attempts to emulate God’s creativity.  He likes to play with the settings in dramatic light and shadow.

TheAtlantaartist is an Associate Living Master,ArtRenewalCenterand a Signature Member, Oil Painters of America. He is also a member of other acclaimed art associations/organizations across America, like, Portrait Society of America, International Guild of Realism, Portrait Society of Atlanta, Atlanta Fine Arts League, Oil Painters of America, National Oil and Acrylic Painters, etc.

A self-taught artist, he attended various workshops by well-known artists around theUSA, in his quest to learn more.  While he strives for excellence in his work through constant practice and learning, he instills the same thirst in his students too.

A top national level artist commented, “Many artists never achieve much of the technical skill you have such a mastery of!”

Dr. Nyayapathi has been exhibiting his paintings and winning many awards in the regional, national and international level competitions.  He accepts commissions for portrait paintings; he takes art classes over the weekends and also conducts workshops, every once n a while.
