JC City Council elections: Dilip Tunki & Brian Weaver headed for runoff

Atlanta, GA, November 6, 2019: The keenly watched election to Johns Creek City Council Post 2, with Indian-American Dilip Tunki in the fray, is headed for a run-off on December 3.

Tunki, who garnered 2160 (30.38%) votes, will face Brian Weaver who got 3253 (45.76%) votes.

The third candidate, Royce Reinecke, received 1,696 (23.86%) votes.

“I am immensely grateful to each and every one of you, who so generously contributed your valuable time and effort for the campaign during last two months,” Tunki said in a statement, after the results were declared.

“Now that we are in the runoff, need your support for another four weeks to get through the finish line on December 3!” he added.

The Johns Creek City Council elections were for the council seats of Post 2, Post 4, and Post 6. None of the candidates in these races secured 50%+1 votes to avoid the runoff.

Tunki, a resident of Johns Creek area for the past 19 years, has over 25 years of business experience with engineering and management educational background. He is also a real estate investor.

Brian Weaver recently retired from the Johns Creek Police Department after a long career in law enforcement.
