Atlanta, GA: Karli Bose of Charlotte, North Carolina recently won the Mrs Asia International 2013 title in a contest organized by the Mrs International pageant system. She will represent Asia in the Mrs International pageant to be held in Chicago on July 16.
Bose, a teacher by profession, has a bachelor’s degree in arts with English honors and a degree in hospitality management. She also volunteers for Pratham USA. She is married to Subashis Halder and has two sons aged 10 and 5.
Her foray into the glamour world began when she won a pageant for Ms Bengal in 1996. This opened doors in the modeling industry, and she walked the ramp and modeled for Revlon, Kinnori sarees and magazines like Sananda. Marriage brought her to the USA, and she is now living her dreams again.
“I want to motivate Indian and other Asian women to live their dreams,” she said. “. I am looking forward to organizing the Mrs Asia International pageant in India and open doors for talented women out there who are just waiting for the right opportunity.”
The Mrs International pageant, founded by Mary and Mel Richardson over 25 years ago, is a platform for married women to compete in a pageant system that maintains the highest of moral values. “It is also a platform that unites and bonds women of different nationalities and cultures,” adds Bose.
The young mother is excited about representing Asia at the finals in Chicago where she will compete with 58 other beauty queens from all over the world. Her ‘Asian’ dresses will be designed by Kolkata based designer Pranav Baidya.
