Shruthilaya the Carnatic Music School in Atlanta, has been conducting Carnatic Music competitions for the past six years for various age groups ranging from five to 25 years.
This year, the children competed for preliminary rounds on April 30th and the finals were held on May 21st at the Hindu Temple of Atlanta, Riverdale.
Many children from Atlanta and near by states participated in the event.
The panel of judges were Dr. Geetha Ramanathan Bennett from CA , Dr. Seshu Sarma and Papanasam Gokul from Atlanta.
Interesting and challenging theory questions were asked to all the participants. There was a vocal concert by Geetha Bennett . She was accompanied by Papanasam Gokul on the violin and Dr. Ram Sriram on the mridangam.
The grand finale of results and prize distribution were held after the concert.
The judges awarded prizes to all the winners and the children took the blessings of the judges.
