Shyamal & Bhumika Showcase New Collection In Atlanta

Well-known Indian designers Shyamal and Bhumika showcased their rich, elegant, traditional Indian collection at the ritzy 200 Peachtree recently. The event was brought to Atlanta by South Asian Bride Magazine, and 200 Peachtree.

The runway was set ablaze with models in deep velvets, earthy and gold tones, rich brocade and fine embroidery.

Speaking to this reporter after the show, designer Shyamal Shodhan said his collection was inspired by the historic architectural splendor of India. “Our clothes are meant for the traditional bride who wants to look modern,” he added.

Indeed, the collection on display was luxurious, and infused a dreamy quality into intrinsically wearable clothes.

The designer couple who started off their career at the Lakme Fashion Week in 2006, have come a long way since then, gaining popularity for their bridal and prêt collections that retail at their native Ahmedabad.

After the show, Sadaf Kherani of South Asian Bridge Magazine thanked the sponsors; the volunteers and those present for making the fashion show a success.

The spotlight moved to the dance floor later in the evening, where Atlanta residents, dressed in their trendy best, danced to rocking music by DJ Neal of Prime DJs.

The décor at the 200 Peachtree atrium was elegantly embellished by four Atlanta decorators- OTT Events, Andre Winfrye Events, Aayojan and Ribha Events. Bhindi Jewelry provided the jewelry for the show while Sarah Ali of Natural Identity did the models’ makeup.
